The COBS AM module in D-SERVER enables speech and Advanced Messaging with COBS wireless handsets.
Personnel can talk to other caregivers or end users with a SIP device (typically D-CALL II carephone). The Advanced Messaging feature enables an alarm list in the handset with various colours depending on the type of alarm and state. The alarm list is updated automatically on all handsets as soon as there has been some type of change.
COBS handsets perform the tasks as you are used to with D-TREX 2G including Door Opening, Task Registration, Presence/Ready Indication, and the possibility to send an Assistance alarm.
The COBS Advanced Messaging module can be deployed in inaccessible areas and does not require internet access though it’s possible to connect the system to a 3CX PBX to add support for mobile and landline phone calls.
A DECT based infrastructure is required for the COBS AM module to work. Spectralink IP-DECT Server 400 with two or three DECT Repeaters (to extend coverage) is often sufficient for smaller nursing homes. Your local COBS dealer can answer questions related to DECT installation and determine which handsets will be most suitable.
We know how essential a reliable system is, that's why it is important to know personnel can still carry out their daily duties even if the internet connection or mobile network is down since you have full control of the infrastructure.
Once the DECT infrastructure is in place, COBS handsets are added to the system in a similar way to D-TREX 2G in the D-SERVER. Furthermore, you can define vibration and colors for different states. D-SERVER allows the combination of COBS handsets with D-TREX 2G, giving you flexibility within your healthcare setting.
